Chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board receives “130 years of Yekaterinburg Eparchy” medal
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahashukur Pashazade has been handed over “130 years of Yekaterinburg Eparchy” medal during a meeting with Metropolitan Kirill of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye.
Pashazade highlighted “friendly and good neighbour” relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. “Azerbaijan Russia are bound together by political, economic, cultural and spiritual ties.”
He recalled his meetings with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
Pashazade spoke of “state-religion relations in Azerbaijan, saying the country has ancient religious tolerance traditions. “Representatives of various confessions have lived in the country in peace over the centuries.”
Metropolitan Kirill said he believes in peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
