President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador of Slovakia
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic Peter Priputen.
Ambassador Peter Priputen reviewed the guard of honor.
Peter Priputen handed his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the Ambassador.
The head of state said there was good potential for developing relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in bilateral and multilateral formats. Stressing the existence of mutual interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of studying areas of joint activity. The head of state said the cooperation within the European Union was significant in terms of developing the bilateral relations.
Ambassador Peter Priputen said he was deeply impressed by big development processes that have taken place since his last visit to Azerbaijan. The diplomat said Azerbaijan was a friendly country to Slovakia and that there was not any political problem between the two countries. He said his country was interested in developing the relations with Azerbaijan in various fields, including economy, tourism, sport, and cooperation within international organizations.
On the first European Games to be held in Baku, the Slovak Ambassador informed the head of state that his country would be represented by 250 athletes.
