Azerbaijan intends to renew construction of nuclear power plant
Construction of a nuclear power plant in Azerbaijan under the project for creation of the National Center for Nuclear Research CJSC is set for renewal, the country's Ministry of Communications and High Technologies told Trend on May 13.
Nuclear reactors will be constructed under the project that is expected to be completed in the next three or four years.
The work on construction of the power plant began during the USSR period, but was cancelled.
France's VINCI Construction Grands Projets expressed interest in participating in this project. The company has experience in this sphere and has implemented around 47 construction projects.
President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on May 8 to create the National Center for Nuclear Research CJSC under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies for using nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes.
