Azerbaijan, Malta sign documents
Azerbaijani PM Artur Rasizade met his Maltese counterpart Joseph Muscat who is on an official visit in Baku.
The Azerbaijani and Maltese Premiers had a one-on-one meeting. Then, they met at presence of the delegations.
Artur Rasizade noted that many important issues were discussed at one-on-one meeting. Informing his counterpart about the economic growth and the processes taking place in the region, the Azerbaijani Premier also highlighted the large-scale projects carried out in the country.
Touching upon the Armenia’s military aggression, Rasizade noted that 20 percent of the country's territory was occupied as a result of the conflict and more than 1 million Azerbaijanis were ousted from their homelands.
Mr. Rasizade stressed the importance of the visit of Maltese counterpart to Azerbaijan in terms of creating legal framework for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries. “This visit would contribute to the expansion of ties between the two countries in all fields”, Rasizade said.
Joseph Muscat, speaking about the bilateral relations stressed that Azerbaijan is becoming an important trade partner for Malta. The document inked between the two countries is a good opportunity for further expansion of cooperation.
Following the expanded meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry for Energy and Health of Malta was signed. The memorandum was inked by the president of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic Rovnag Abdullayev and Minister for Energy and Health of the Government of Malta Konrad Mizzi.
A Memorandum of Understanding on the sidelines of strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector between the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Republic and Ministry for Energy and Health of Malta has been signed as well. The Certificate was inked by the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev and Minister for Energy and Health of Malta Konrad Mizzi.
