Azerbaijani President addresses to participants of the 21st Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aiyev has addressed to the participants of the 21st Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals.
The head of state noted that this exhibition and conference will pave the way for further deepening of the global and regional cooperation, proved itself as an important meeting place through contributing to processes in the oil and gas spheres.
“Dear exhibition and conference participants! I’m sincerely greeting you on the occasion of opening of the 21st Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference Incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals. Since your traditional event, which has already achieved successes in a wide-scale, has been organized, it created good condition for Azerbaijan to deliver its priorities on oil and gas industry and strategic principles. This year’s exhibition and conference coincides with the 20th anniversary of “Contract of the Century” founded by our nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and this event increases its importance”.
The development way started with the contracts signed with the world companies in 1994 has today changed Azerbaijan to the most reliable partner of Eurasia on energy security. During this period, demonstrating sustainable and increasing development in the oil sector, our country has decently realized its role both as initiator and executor of global transnational projects. Shahdeniz – 2, the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX), TAP and TANAP projects are the successful steps strengthening our country’s position and global partnership. Azerbaijan is increasing its influence in the world energy market through investing capital in the different countries. Establishment of new oil-gas and oil refinery complex in Baku has a great importance for region. Announcement of 2014 as the year of industry in Azerbaijan will support development of oil and non-oil industries. Now, Azerbaijan is conducting policy of reviving of the non-oil sector through oil revenues.
