President Ilham Aliyev honored with high award of International Eurasia Press Fund

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has been honored with a high award of the International Eurasia Press Fund for his exceptional role in developing civil society in the country.

The award was handed to the President`s Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov in a ceremony to inaugurate the headquarters of the International Eurasia Press Fund, which holds a special consultative status of the Economic and Social Council  of the United Nations (ECOSOC).

Participants in the ceremony included state and governmental officials, MPs, representatives of international organizations, UN agencies, civil society, and mass media.

Following the opening ceremony, the participants toured the headquarters of the International Eurasia Press Fund and viewed photos highlighting its activity.

In his remarks, Ali Hasanov congratulated the International Eurasia Press Fund on the occasion of the opening of its headquarters.

Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev hailed the exceptional role of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in developing civil society in Azerbaijan.

UNDP resident coordinator in Azerbaijan Antonius Broek applauded the activity of the International Eurasia Press Fund and its contribution to the development of civil society in the country.

Advisor for international affairs to the chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Lutful Kabir read out congratulatory letters of international organizations.

The ceremony also featured the awarding of honorary diplomas of the International Eurasia Press Fund to the President`s Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov, UNDP resident coordinator in Azerbaijan Antonius Broek, head of the EU Mission in Azerbaijan Malena Mard, Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tsuguo Takahashi and Public Affairs Officer at US Embassy Stephen Guice.
