‘Turkish-Azerbaijani relations have always played a very important role for both countries and the region’
Azerbaijani President`s Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov has said Turkish-Azerbaijani relations have always played a very important role for both countries and the region as he met Turkish media representatives. The Turkish delegation`s visit is organized by the Turkish Journalists Federation.
Mr. Hasanov highlighted strategic partnership between the two countries.
He said Turkey was the first state to recognize Azerbaijan`s independence. Mr. Hasanov provided an insight into the negotiations over the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Presidential Aide hailed official Ankara`s position on the Karabakh problem.
“President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev first of all prefers peaceful way of solving the conflict. The head of state also decisively said we will use all means to release our lands” he added.
Mr. Hasanov said “Armenians, who committed terror acts and genocide against Azerbaijanis, present themselves as an innocent, oppressed nation and try - through absurd allegations - to build a public view that they were subjected to genocide by the Turks”. “What we have seen recently is that international institutions don`t believe their dirty campaigns. In searching of truth, justice in the world, Azerbaijan has exposed Armenian lies. Turkey has always supported us in implementing these campaigns,” Mr. Hasanov added.
The Presidential Aide spoke of large-scale projects implemented in the country, adding they ensure energy security of Azerbaijan, Turkey and other countries. He also hailed the expansion of cooperation and strategic partnership as “an indicator of regional stability”.
Following the meeting, Ali Hasanov was handed an award of the Turkish Journalists Federation.
