“Azerbaijan achieved a number of successes in protecting women`s rights. 20th century can be considered the beginning of the new era in the life of Azerbaijani women. .. Women received new opportunities after Azerbaijan1s regaining its independence. There is no sphere in Azerbaijan in which women were not involved. They are represented in governance, legal and judicial field,” said First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, ISESCO and UNESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva at the seventh conference of ministers responsible for gender equality on “Gender equality: de-jure and de-facto equliaty ensuring”
