We also maintain an active dialogue with Azerbaijan over supply of Turkmen gas to Europe
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedow discussed the issue of transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkey and Europe via the Caspian Sea.
“Turkmenistan is making efforts to have this project realized. We held discussions on this topic, and I can note that both Turkey and Turkmenistan have the similar points of view on this important issue. This issue will be discussed more thoroughly by Ministers of Energy of the two countries,” the Turkish leader said after the meeting.
“We also maintain an active dialogue with Azerbaijan and other countries of the region which are involved in the implementation of this project. Last year the ministers of foreign affairs of the three countries held a meeting and discussed a mechanism of implementation of this project. We decided to have this mechanism discussed by leaders of our countries. So, the first meeting shall be held in Turkmenistan this year,” Mr Erdogan said.
