Azerbaijani Armed Forces start large-scale exercises
Azerbaijani armed forces started large-scale operational and tactical exercises involving all types of troops on February 2, the Defense Ministry said. The exercises are being conducted under the leadership of Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and First Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Colonel General Najmaddin Sadikhov in accordance with the instruction of the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
About 15,000 personnel, up to 300 armoured vehicles, more than 200 means of missile and artillery troops, about 20 aircrafts of the Air Forces, air defense units and sophisticated anti-aircraft missile complexes are involved in the exercises.
About 5,000 reservists and 300 automotive vehicles are involved in the exercises to check the level of implementation of the mobilization tasks of the formations and units during the exercises under the instruction of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
