A group of Azerbaijani peacekeepers return home from Afghanistan
A group of 39 Azerbaijani soldiers serving within NATO-led “Resolute Support” mission launched in Afghanistan from January, 2015, returned Baku in accordance with the plan and rotation, the Defense Ministry said.
The peacekeeping contingent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been serving under the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan since November 20, 2002.
Currently, a group of 94 servicemen, 2 medical officers and 2 sappers is participating in a peace-building mission in Afghanistan.
