Azerbaijan, Qatar sign cooperation agreement on management of emergency situations
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov and Interior Minister Ramil Usubov is on a visit to Qatar to attend the Qatari Interior Ministry’s 10th International Exhibition of Internal State Security "Milipol Qatar 2014" in Doha under the auspices of Emir of Qatar, His Majesty Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The visit took place at the invitation of Qatari Prime Minister, Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The main purpose of the visit is to review new machinery and equipment made by a variety of companies in order to provide the ministries’ material and technical base with up-to-date equipment, hold meetings aimed at building and strengthening relations with relevant authorities of the states attending the exhibition and discuss issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, Emir of Qatar, His Majesty Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received Kemaleddin Heydarov and Ramil Usubov at Al Bahr Palace. At the reception, the sides noted the importance of the "Milipol Qatar 2014" exhibition, providing extensive information on the work of the relevant ministries.
Moreover, K. Heydarov met with Qatari Prime Minister, Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, discussing the prospects of cooperation between the two countries’ ministries in the prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences. As part of the visit, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Qatar on Cooperation in Management of Emergency Situations was signed by Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov and Head of the Office of the Internal Security Forces of Qatar, Brigadier Fahd Rashid al-Ali.
