President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament of Albania Ilir Meta.
Speaker Ilir Meta said relations with Azerbaijan, as well as the implementation of the TAP project are of great importance to Albania. He noted that the implementation of this project would increase Albania`s role and open ample opportunities for the country`s development. Ilir Meta said Azerbaijan`s making investments in Albania contributed to the expansion of economic ties between the two countries, adding Albania was keen to enhance economic and political relations with Azerbaijan even further. He noted with pleasure that as part of his trip he would attend a ceremony to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the University of Tirana and Baku State University. Describing Azerbaijan as a very important and reliable partner for Albania, the Speaker expressed confidence that bilateral ties between the two countries would continue to expand.
Noting that Azerbaijan attached importance to bilateral ties with Albania, the head of state expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation. Saying Azerbaijan was actively making investments in Europe, Asia, as well as the Balkans region, President Ilham Aliyev stressed it was possible to look through additional opportunities for making investments in various sectors of Albanian economy, as well as energy and construction areas. Hailing close ties between the two counties and nations, the head of state said there were good prospects for a further expansion of cooperation. Highlighting the importance of the TAP project, President Ilham Aliyev noted that this project would be fruitful for all participating countries, expressing his hope the project would contribute to the development of economy of both transit and consumer countries.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views over prospects for the interparliamentary cooperation.
