From the point of energy security, the project will provide sustainable cooperation between the various states and nations in upcoming years, said Antonis Samaras during his speech at the solemn ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of the Contract of the Century and lay the foundation of the Southern Gas Corridor.
Samaras noted Greece has backed the project from the first day. The pipe will pass via Greece. The TAP and TANAP projects are parts of the Southern gas corridor. The Southern gas corridor is not a limited project, because it can connect the TAP with other networks in the future. “I am sure the TAP will open wide opportunities in the future,” he added.
