John Kerry: “Azerbaijan demonstrates persistence”
Letter of the US Secretary of State John Kerry was read out at the 20th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century” and groundbreaking ceremony of the Southern Gas Corridor.
Acting Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Affairs leading the Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR) of the U.S Department of State Amos Hochstein said that the US President Barack Obama support the Southern Gas Corridor: “he project is being implemented timely. No country should depend on one state. Energy supply should be diversified. This project will change energy map of Europe. This is not a project of only three countries, but of other European countries too”.
Thereafter, he read out the letter of the US Secretary of State John Kerry. The letter says that Azerbaijan has become a huge oil producer: “The US and Azerbaijan had strong relations. These relations will be strengthened further. This project attaches importance for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Europe. Azerbaijan continues its persistence today too. The US is ready to participate in the historical project like Southern Gas Corridor closely”.
